We were just reading some interesting statistics about commercial vehicle seat belt use.
- CMV Seat Belt use in 2003—-48%
- CMV Seat Belt use in 2007—-65%
- CMV Seat Belt use in 2013—-84%
Why isn’t it 100%? Because trucks don’t have blinking lights and annoying buzzers that tell the driver to put on the seat belt?
In 2012, 700 truck drivers died and 26,000 were injured in truck accidents. One third of those injured or killed were not wearing a seat belt.
Let’s encourage the truck drivers we know to “Buckle Up“.
