The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) announced the 2015 Operation Safe Driver Week is October 18-24. Law enforcement in the United States, Canada and Mexico will step-up enforcement of traffic laws.

In 2014 the top five warnings and/or tickets in commercial vehicles were:

  1. Speeding
  2. Not using seat belt
  3. Failure to obey traffic control (red lights, etc.)
  4. Improper lane change
  5. Following too close

For non-commercial vehicles the top five were:

  1. Speeding
  2. Not using a seat belt
  3. Failure to obey traffic control (red lights, etc.)
  4. DUI – Driving while in possession, using, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  5. Improper lane change

Why on earth are seat belts on this list ???

Why aren’t people using seat belts???

Seat belts are proven life savers!!!

If you are drunk, speeding and  running a red light while making an improper lane change and you run into something ( ie: tree, telephone pole), the seat belt may save your life.
