We are always harping on FMCSA regulations! What a pain! Just last week we blogged about a company in Massachusetts that was shut down by FMCSA (Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration). Read that blog here.
I can hear you say, well that’s over on the East Coast, a long way from me.
Well, March 11, 2016 FMCSA shut down a motor carrier in Wyoming. Some of their issues:
- Failing to do background checks on drivers
- Failure to monitor drivers hours of service
- Failing to conduct random drug and alcohol tests on drivers
- Employing a driver that had a Lifetime CDL disqualification
In February, a North Carolina trucking company was shut down for similar problems. Read their out-of-service order here.
Fines start about $10,000 and go up.
Prison time starts at 1 year.
So take a look at your operation. Are you conducting background checks? We can do that. Are you in a random drug and alcohol program? We can do that. Do you do the required yearly check of Commercial Drivers License? We can do that.
We can do that. Call us. 866-844-0661
